Pre-panning a backpacking trip

People planning a budget trip to Europe should seriously think about the backpacking way of touring. Planning the trip in advance would also help in minimising expenses of the frivolous type which tends to occur in case of an impromptu type of backpacking trip. Backpacking trip has the element of freedom in it and therefore one may think that pre-planning would be against the very basic of a backpacking trip. The pre-planning need not be worked out to the absolute nitty-gritty of the trip, including details such as where you would find a red diesel supplier if need be, but the overall plan is what pre-planning all about in case of a backpacking preparation. For one, the places that would be of interest could be finalised in the pre-planning stages. There is the factor of season also that could be planned for, prior to departure.

The aspect of what is to be viewed during the trip would be based solely on the region one decides upon to backpack through. In Western Europe region for example there is the Coliseum and the Louvre, while the Eastern parts have Montenegro and Croatia that might be of interest and should be in any backpacker’s itinerary. Not only the place of visit but even the duration of stay in each place could also be planned before hand. This would enable a person to work out the accommodation expense that can be incurred.

In case of deciding or pre-planning, remember that the season to visit Europe is summer time. It has to be borne in mind that this fact holds true for all visitors to Europe and therefore there is the issue of scarcity of accommodation during this time. Winter is the time when there is lesser crowd visiting Europe but then that is also the time when a backpacker would require heavy clothing to ward off the chill that Europe experiences at that time.

Pre-planning a backpacking trip is not about losing the essence of freedom that this form of touring has, but a matter of planning the major points to make the trip more affordable and enjoyable.

Budget Traveling – Prague

Eastern Europe has loads of treasures to offer to tourists. Among the east European destinations, Prague is one of the gems. The best part of this city is that it still allows tourists to make a stay and take a trip on a shoe-string budget, at a cost that might just be lesser than an equine insurance plan. But for this you should know the right places to go to. Let us look at the places that offer good food and accommodations at a cheap rate.

If you are in Prague, you should always find hostels to make a stay in. And take the bus to go around the city. This will save you lot of money. You can do well with EUR 20 per day. But this will of course not include a good night life. If you make a stay in a hostel then the charges per day will be around EUR12. But this will vary with the season. You can try to find one a little far from the central part of the city. This will fetch you accommodations at a cheaper price. The best part of Prague is that it has a good communication system, therefore commuting to different parts of city is not a big deal. Buses ply everywhere. Staying a little far from the city will also get you food and drinks at a cost effective rate.

If you try an affordable restaurant then you should get food at EUR 10. But before you get in to the eatery, check their menu and prices that are displayed outside the inn. When we visit a place we are always eager to see its night life. Prague is no exception. Prague does not cost you exorbitantly when it comes to night life. But it again depends on where you go. At Wenceslas Square there are many pubs that will offer you good wine or a half a litre beer bottle at EUR1.50.
